The article deals with the issue of modelling the dynamics of random processes arising in the planning of an inventory management system. The study aims to analyse the capabilities of the mathematical apparatus of queuing theory in inventory management, used to model systems in cases where the state of a system changes abruptly, but the time between these changes is continuous. Methodologically, the research rests on the principles of constructing a system of Kolmogorov equations as applied to the description of random processes in inventory management. The proposed probabilistic approach can be used to describe and form a strategy for managing a two-tier inventory control system in conditions of unstable demand. The scientific novelty of the paper lies in expanding the scope of application of multi-channel queuing systems as a way to describe the random characteristics of inventory management systems, which contributes to the development of scientific and practical aspects of management analysis.
