Gastric schwannomas are the rare mesenchymal neoplasm of the stomach accounting for only 0.2% of all gastric tumors. These tumors arise from the nerve plexus of the stomach and are generally located in the submucosal region. It occurs most often in the fth and sixth decade of life with a female preponderance. Here we present a case of 55-year-old female with no other medical history presented with upper gastrointestinal symptoms for 3 months. Scan showed a large abdominal mass. The preoperative diagnosis was a gastrointestinal stromal tumor, but the postoperative pathologic and immunohistochemical examinations conrmed the diagnosis of gastric schwannoma. The patient underwent resection of the stomach mass without additional postoperative treatment, and his postoperative recovery was uneventful. Surgery is considered to be the treatment of choice and since it is a benign tumor, the prognosis is excellent.
