In this study, an envelope extraction method is introduced that relies on low-pass filters to fulfill the demands of lowpower and efficient envelope extraction algorithms in cochlear implant speech signal processing. This innovative approach enables precise extraction of the overall envelope of both Chinese and English speech signals. It accomplishes this by analyzing the amplitude and sampling rate of the sound signal, establishing an optimal cutoff frequency, and utilizing a Butterworth filter. The experimental findings confirm the method's accuracy and efficacy. When compared to Hilbert transform and wavelet transform techniques, the low-pass filtering method demonstrates superior computational efficiency and aligns better with the power constraints of cochlear implants. Consequently, it offers a viable technical advancement for enhancing auditory capabilities among deaf individuals, thus improving their hearing experiences.
