India is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change. It has one of the highest volumes of economic activity in the world. By 2020, Pressure on water, air, land, and forest is expected to become highest in the world. Therefore, it is essential to ensure recycled use of products to the maximum level in every sector. Bricks are a widely used construction and building material around the world. Conventional bricks are produced from clay with high temperature kiln firing thus contain high embodied energy, large carbon footprint and cause loss of valuable agricultural soil. After evaluation and research it was studied that Agricultural and Household Waste like (10%) egg-shell powder and (40%) rice husk ash when enhance together with (20%) gypsum and (30%) lime show strength similar to conventional brick and can be excellent replacement with some modifications in their properties. For wide production and application of bricks from waste materials, further research and development is needed, not only on the technical, economic and environmental aspects but also on government policy and public education related to waste recycling, waste management and sustainable development.
