Analysis of Defects in U-Ditch Concrete Using DMAIC Method and RCA Method

PT XYZ is one of the concrete companies that produces U Ditch concrete. The company's defect standard is 0.1% but in the period January to November 2023 the percentage of defects was more than 0.1%. This study aims to analyze the causes of defects and minimize the occurrence of these defects. The methods used are DMAIC and RCA. DMAIC is used to define the level of defect control. RCA is used to analyze the causes of defects. The results of data processing are the causes of the highest defects, namely from the worker factor, which often occurs human error, from the material factor that does not meet the standards, from the machine factor, lack of calibration, and from the production environment factor which is still carried out in an open space. The DPMO value is 46557 or per one million products there is a possibility of 46557 defective products.
