Understanding of the effect vibratory pile installation on monopile design is the key to its widespread application within the offshore wind industry. Using data from the large-scale VIBRO-Project together with machine learning optimisation algorithms, the effect of vibratory pile driving on pile response in dense North Sea sand has been assessed. A comparison of the calibrated PISA P-Y curves for the impact and vibratory driven pile showed large differences in the stiffness of the pile, rather than the ultimate capacity. A recommendation was provided on the adjustment of PISA parameters for the installation of vibratory hammer.
