In this short manuscript, by highlighting some shocking numbers to reflect the depth of the critical disparity in girls education globally, we delve into the ramifications of gender discrimination, with a particular focus on the educational ban imposed on girls, and its subsequent effects on the physical and mental well-being of women. Afghanistan serves as a poignant example in our discussion, illustrating the profound issues engendered by the draconian policies of hardliner regimes. We urge policymakers, sports organizations, NGOs, and especially academic institutions to formulate immediate and effective strategies that can reinstate girls’ educational opportunities and dismantle entrenched gender discrimination. It is vital for girls and women, who have suffered under the yoke of gender apartheid worldwide, to witness global acknowledgement that their rights are immutable and transcend ethnicity or place of birth.
