The article examines the risks and threats to national security associated with migration processes. The analysis of strategic planning documents, as well as other legislation in the field of migration, is carried out. The author examines the powers of public authorities, both at the federal level and at the level of the subjects of the Russian Federation, to counter threats to national security arising in migration processes, as well as measures taken by these bodies to ensure national security. Proposals are formulated to improve the current legislation and the practice of its application.
