The article examines the practice of using and prospects for the development of digital technologies in the production of investigative actions. The author understands the digitalization of investigative actions as a means of expanding their evidentiary potential, identifi es patterns of application of digital technologies depending on the method of obtaining evidentiary information. In the course of interrogations, it is proposed to expand the possibility of using videoconferencing through the use of personal computers and mobile communications. The use of GLONASS, GPS, unmanned aerial vehicles, and 3D scanners is being considered to improve the effi ciency of the accident site inspection. The creation of a 3D model during the inspection of the scene will ensure the possibility of using the most modern technologies during the investigative experiment, such as reconstruction of the circumstances of the crime committed using virtual reality technologies. The article analyzes attempts to apply this method in Russia and other countries and concludes that it is promising to introduce it into investigative practice. It is proposed to assign work with high-tech equipment to forensic investigators, providing for such positions in investigative bodies at the regional level of all departments.
