Abstract The large- scale numerical simulation/solution in three dimensions (3D) of partial differential equations requires significant com-putational resources, regardless of the physics domain (e.g. numericaloceans acoustics, electromagnetic fields, computational fluid dynamics. . . ).The utilization of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) offers a distinctadvantage in enabling large- scale simulations/solutions based on thesedifferential equations. This streamlines the approximation process significantly. By employing MPI, scientists and engineers model effortlesslythe complex interactions from physical parameters in various physics domains. This empowers them to make informed decisions in various fields, from e.g. marine engineering to environmental monitoring. This papershows the efficiency result of a specific software application for the numerical solution of a partial differential equation in numerical oceansacoustics in 3D on a high-performance computer (HPC) with the respective number of cores, pin assignment and MPI Version
