We describe a new species of Clavicorona, C. angustispora, based on two collections from Northwestern Spain and one from Southwestern France. In the phylogenetic analyses (ITS+LSU) C. angustispora appears as sister to the type of the genus, C. taxophila. The new species differs from C. taxophila by longer, oblong to subcylindrical basidios- pores, often with a median constriction; growth on piles of wood and leaves of Salix atrocinerea or in mesophilous broad-leaved forests; and different ITS and LSU sequences. Our phylogenetic analyses support the rather isolated position of both Clavicorona species in relation to the other phylogenetic lineages in the Clavaria-Camarophyllop- sis-Clavicorona clade. This is only the second species of Clavicorona (as currently accepted) worldwide.
