In a context of increasing attention to reproductive rights, obstetric violence emerges as a complex and often overlooked reality. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this issue has gained relevance, highlighting challenges and violations of the rights of birthing individuals. This article aimed to explore the phenomenon of obstetric violence, focusing on its definition and international legal recognition, and then delving into the Italian context and its peculiarities. Through an analysis of official positions from competent authorities and a glimpse into women's experiences during the pandemic via a case study, the intention was to provide an overview of the legal-criminological aspects of this theme.
