De Quervains Stenosing Tenosynovitis (DQST) is characterised by the build-up of mucopolysaccharides in the sheath of the abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis tendons that cross under the extensor retinaculum in the rst dorsal compartment of the wrist. Intra-articular injections are given in patients who do not respond to rst line treatments. Hypopigmentation of the skin following intra-articular injections is an uncommon but distressing side effect because of the cosmetic signicance of pigmentary alterations.
