Introduction: Human immunodeciency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that targets T cells, disrupting the body's immune system and causing immunosuppression. CD4 count has been widely employed in describing stages of HIV disease. Although CD 4 counts and RNA levels are easily performed in tertiary government hospitals, they are not available everywhere including primary, secondary and corporate health care settings, and logistical, technological, and budgetary issues limit their use. To estimate serum Albumin and Abso Aims &Objective: lute CD4+ cell counts in PLHIV and to correlate serum albumin levels with absolute CD4 cell count as a marker of immune suppression. This Materials And Methods: cross sectional study was conducted at Hospitals attached to Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute from February 2021 to August 2022. Clinical examination and investigations were done as per the Performa. Serum albumin levels and CD4 counts were measured using standard laboratory techniques. A total of 136 individuals participated in the study with the mean age of th Result: e sample is 42 years, and a standard deviation of 10 years. The correlation coefcient between albumin and the CD4 count was 0.797 with a p-value of 0.001, indicating a strong positive correlation between these two variables. Both Serum albumin levels and CD4 counts decrease Conclusion: s as the disease progresses in PLHIV patients. Hence serum albumin levels can be used as a marker of immunosuppression in people living with HIV.
