The article is devoted to the project ‘The Musical Heritage of the Era of Peter the Great: State Festivities and Liturgical Singing’, supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research in 2020–2022. The most important result of the project is the publication of five issues from the planned series. The studies and publications related to the project are based mainly on the music manuscripts of His Majesty’s church singers stored in the Armory Chamber of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts. Preceding the publication of the incipit catalogue of services for the Twelve Great Feasts compiled by Lada Kondrashkova, the article sheds light on some features of that scholarly work. The author substantiates the prospects for further research in this field of scholarship
