The empirical study on the national identity of overseas students has significant practical implications. This study identifies three dimensions of national identity for overseas students: political identity, cultural identity and ethnic identity. Based on these three dimensions, this study designs a comprehensive measurement index and a scale-based questionnaire to investigate overseas students. Through data collection and statistical analysis, the following conclusions are drawn: Political identity shows high levels of alignment with the country's path and ideology, but a moderate level of alignment with the country's institutions. Cultural identity reveals a lack of self-confidence in cultural aspects, while ethnic identity demonstrates misunderstandings regarding minority policies. Additionally, factors such as gender, degree program, ethnic background, family background, political affiliation, and academic discipline significantly influence the national identity of overseas students. Finally, based on the findings of the survey, relevant recommendations are proposed.
