The issue of human nature has always been of great concern in the history of philosophical development.Marx's definition of the "realistic individual" went through a long process of development. On the basis of criticizing and developing the humanistic ideas represented by Hegel, Feuerbach, and others, Marx and Engels provided a scientific interpretation of the essence of human beings.Their thoughts on the "realistic individual" can be sorted and presented from three dimensions: natural objectivity, active practicality, and social historicity. The clarification of the scientific connotation of the "realistic individual" is conducive to a correct understanding of Marxist humanistic theory and historical materialism, and its application to the practice and development of contemporary society.
