The majority of electric power quality problems have been effectively mitigated by the use of unified power quality conditioners, or UPQCs. Transformation techniques are used in conventional control schemes like P-Q theory-based control and Synchronous Reference Fame (SRF). Thus, they necessitate expensive DSPs and FPGAs and involve intricate computations. Reducing the size and operational difficulty of the control system is facilitated by the use of artificial intelligence control systems. For efficient operation and control, an ANN and ANFIS controller for UPQC is proposed in this article. The ANN controller decreases the system's cost and complexity. The analysis is done on the controller performance under different scenarios, such as load imbalances, voltage sag and swell, and harmonics in the supply voltage and load current. The ANFIS controller outperforms traditional controllers, according to the results.
