This study aims to examine the characteristics of students with high and low aptitude in Korean classroom situations, based on the cognition of aptitude by Korean language teachers. To this end, an explanatory integrated research method was used, in which an interview was conducted to deeply understand the results of the survey after conducting a survey. Combining the results of the foreign language cognition survey and FGI analysis conducted on Korean language teachers, teachers recognized foreign language aptitude as an ability that cannot be changed by individual efforts, but believed that it could be cultivated through teaching- learning methods. This study is a basic study on how teachers recognize foreign language aptitude. Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to critically reflect on their beliefs regarding foreign language aptitude in relation to the effectiveness of their instructional strategies.
