In this contribution, we introduce the topic that is central to this special issue of REALaw. We start by arguing for the importance of (comparative) research on proof in administrative law. Subsequently, we sketch the purpose, method and design of (the research underlying) this special issue, which was preceded by an expert seminar and an exchange of papers between contributors. Next, we identify some of the most important comparative insights that we came to after analysing the country chapters. We end with a conclusion and some suggestions for a future (comparative) research agenda.
