Measurements reveal an excess of high-energy neutrinos from low Galactic latitudes, indicating unique astrophysical sources.
We report on Baikal-GVD measurements of the Galactic component of the high-energy neutrino flux. Using cascade-like events with estimated energy above 200 TeV recorded by Baikal-GVD during six years since 2018, we find an excess of neutrinos from low Galactic latitudes with the chance probability of 1.4×10⁻².
