In the case when the right hemisphere of the brain is dominant, a person develops left — handedness — it is more convenient for him to write with his left hand, use cutlery, open doors, give his left hand for a handshake. There are not so few such people — according to statistics, 10–15 % of the world's population is left-handed, and most of them are among the Anglo-Saxons. Left-handed people have always aroused special interest and some wary attitude of others, aroused surprise and curiosity. During the Inquisition, all those who used the left hand as the main one were considered «servants of Satan» and were persecuted. In modern society, there is a more tolerant attitude towards such individuals, but still left — handers have to face a number of difficulties in their lives — most subjects in this world are created for right-handers, and the left-handed half still find it difficult to adapt to society because of the «right-handed» social orientation. Most of the various household appliances, handrails in transport, production machines at enterprises and so on are made for the right hand. It is more difficult for left-handers to adapt to such mechanisms, therefore, there are more cases of occupational injuries among left-handers. The inconveniences that lefties experience from daily, every-second use of all this, scientists have called decompression. And at the initiative of the British Left-Handed Club, on August 13 it was proposed to recognize the World Day of Those for whom the lef t hand is dominant.
