• PD-1 blockage has the potential to stop oral carcinogenesis • Pembrolizumab inhibits PD-1 by creating antigen-binding site that can hold the important epitope of PD-1 • Pembrolizumab is authorized as first line of treatment for OSCC • Pembrolizumab monotherapy significantly increases overall survival of patients
