This letter presents a <tex-math notation="LaTeX">D</tex-math> -band on–off keying (OOK)-doubler that uses a balanced push–push design with an integrated switch at its common node (CN) for second harmonic modulation. The input impedance of the proposed modulator remains almost constant with less than 1% mismatch during the switching states of direct modulation, making it best candidate for scalable switched array with fast settling time. The design of the circuit is realized using 65-nm CMOS TSMC process, featuring a compact size. It is heterogeneously combined with a glass antenna that employs General Electric's technology, achieving a gain of 6 dBi. The integrated OOK-doubler and glass antenna achieves up to 10-Gb/s data rate over 7 cm, with BER less than 10 <tex-math notation="LaTeX">⁻⁶</tex-math> . The chip consumes 11–14-mW dc power with a saturated power of <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$-$</tex-math> 2 dBm.
