Genesis and Definitions of the Concept of Information and Communication Technologies in Education

The article deals with the interconnections and differences of similar concepts, such as «technology», «educational technologies», «educational technologies», «pedagogical technologies».Different approaches to the definition of the concept of «pedagogical technology» are highlighted, in particular: pedagogical technology as a system of tools designed to successfully organize and conduct the learning process; pedagogical technology as a set of methods, design actions, operations of organizing the educational process aimed at achieving the educational goal; pedagogical technology as a scientific field in pedagogical science.Based on the analysis of scientific and scientific-methodical literature, different views of scientists on the definition of «information and communication technologies» and «information and communication technologies of education» are revealed.The structure of information and communication technologies and the structure of the concept of «information and communication technologies for learning» are analyzed.Analyzing the interpretation of the concept of «information and communication technologies» among the structural components of ICT, the methods, means and techniques of working with information, computer and communication tools are distinguished.The author proposes her own interpretation of the concept of information and communication technologies in education -a set of teaching methods, forms of organization of the educational process, methods of managing information resources using computer hardware, mobile devices, software and electronic educational resources to improve the efficiency of various types of educational activities.Attention is drawn to the fact that the study of the development of the concepts of «pedagogical technologies», «information technologies», «information and communication technologies of education» and their modern interpretation can be used in scientific research by students of education, pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers of general secondary education institutions, institutions of higher education for the formation of theoretical aspects of their research, development of teaching methods using information and communication technologies.
