Charging electric vehicles (EV) using photovoltaic (PV) panels is regarded as a pivotal step towards establishing a sustainable transportation infrastructure. This piece details the creation of a 10 kW electric vehicle charger capable of being fueled by both a photovoltaic array and a three-phase AC network. The objective is to deploy a high-power-density, high-efficiency three-port power converter that seamlessly integrates EV, PV, and grid systems, while also adhering to CCS/Combo EV charging standards. The EV ports have been meticulously designed to be isolated and bidirectional, facilitating both charging and enabling the vehicle to connect to the grid (V2G).Given the inherent DC nature of both PVs and EVs, the converters enhance efficiency by facilitating energy exchange between EVs and PVs through a centralized DC link.
