As electrolysis systems scale up to megawatt and gigawatt capacities, the imperative for dynamic characterization and grid-connection analysis becomes increasingly pressing. Unlike conventional loads, electrolysis systems' Balance of Plant (BoP) incorporates temperature and gas pressure control processes, amplifying model complexity. This paper consolidates the dynamic behaviors of various electrolyzers across diverse transient processes and formulates a comprehensive, generic electrolyzer dynamic pattern. Then, a generalized three-layer model architecture for electrolyzers based on the equivalent BoP control loop is proposed. A simulation in MATLAB/Simulink has been built and the simulation results verified the feasibility of the proposed model.
