The paper aims to analyze some specific dialectal names of traditional cereal foods in Bulgarian and in Polish.The semantic and historical features of lexemes excerpted from archival materials as well as from written sources and personal materials from the authors' work will be examined, as well.Special attention is paid to the names of different types of porridge and pastry, found in the dialects.
