The tracking of load position and switching of multiple transmitting units are guarantees for stable transmission power and high transmission efficiency in dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT). Usually, additional monitoring devices and complex control algorithms are required to achieve these two functions. The higher the speed of dynamic devices, the higher the corresponding requirements. A DWPT with automatic position-tracking and power-allocating is proposed in this paper. Based on the influence of ferrite shielding layers (FSLs) on the equivalent electrical parameters of magnetic coupling mechanisms (MCM), a parallel topology of multiple transmitting units is constructed. The equivalent self-inductance and mutual-inductance automatically follow the position of receiving unit to achieve automatic tuning, coupling, and transmission power regulation. No other equipment and control required. The theories and schemes are elaborated. A 1kW experimental platform was established. Some experiments were conducted. The maximum transmission power is about 1.09kW, and the maximum transmission efficiency is about 90.5%. The difference in transmission power and efficiency is very small at various speed of load. The results are consistent with theories and simulations, and verify the effectiveness of this DWPT topology.
