Fournier`S Gangrene: The Importance of an Early Diagnosis

Introduction and objective: Fournier’s Gangrene (FG) is a necrotizing fasciitis that affects the external genitalia, perineum and perianal region, with occasional extension to the abdomen, lower limbs and even to the chest. The objective is to perform a descriptive analysis of the etiology and the risk factors of this disease, as well as to expose its diagnostic methods and therapeutic management based on the most recent scientific evidence of the latest years. Material and methods: A narrative literature review has been made to identify the risk factors and the etiology, as well as the diagnostic methods and the therapeutic management.
