This paper proposes an efficient power regulation control method for a high-power LCL-LCL tuned Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) Wireless Charging System (WCS) using a Duel Active Bridge (DAB) topology. A combination of conduction angle and active bridge phase shift control is used to maintain Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS) on both the primary and secondary side when moderate power regulation is required. A first-harmonic analysis of the LCL-LCL system is presented which shows the functionality of the control method. Experimental results are presented when delivering 50 kW of power under high coupling conditions. These show reduced switching losses in the active bridges and a dc-dc system efficiency increase of 0.7 % using the proposed control method.
