Health care activities in health care facilities generate a large volume of effluent containing various micropollutants that would constitute a potential danger to health and the environment. This is a major concern for the preservation of natural resources. The objective of this study is to characterize the pollution load of antibiotic residues (erythromycin, tetracycline, sulfamethoxazole, ciprofloxacin) from the liquid effluents of the Daloa Regional Hospital Centre.Composite samples were taken from three points over nine campaigns. These samples were analysed using HPLC.The results showed that the 4 molecules of the study were found in these wastewaters at variable levels.Furthermore, a comparison of these levels with the discharge standards revealed that the levels of erythromycin (2.42 µg.L -1 ); tetracycline (2.42 µg.L -1 ); Sulfamethoxazole (1.61 µg.L -1 ) and ciprofloxacin (1.81 µg.L -1 ) were respectively higher than the PNECs of erythromycin (1.00 µg.L -1 ), tetracycline (0.115 µg.L -1 ), Sulfamethoxazole and ciprofloxacin (0.1-1 µg.L -1 ).
