Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH) and anosmia in Kallman syndrome (KS) occur with impaired migration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone neurons into the central nervous system to become integral components of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Kallman syndrome is a rare disorder that is associated with hypogonadism and anosmia. Several genetic mutations have been reported in the medical literature that have been associated with IHH/KS including the CCDC141 knockdown which is a lesser-known mutation with Kallman syndrome.
