In the war and post-war periods, the economy of Ukrainian farms was weakened, which required the implementation of resource-saving measures. One of them is the cultivation of legumes, in particular peas. They are able to fix nitrogen from the air and accumulate it in the soil. Non-nutritive nitrogen has a decisive influence on the yield levels of all agricultural crops, as well as their moisture supply. Symbiotically fixed nitrogen is free, environmentally friendly, and it is completely used by plants instead of being lost like fertilizer nitrogen. After growing legumes, the soil is replenished not only with nitrogen compounds, but also with valuable fresh organic matter. As a result of these positives, leguminous plants are the most favorable precursors for all agricultural crops. It is advisable to grow legumes on the basis of resource conservation: against the background of a low dose of fertilizer, pre-sowing treatment of seeds and sowing of plants with biological preparations and trace elements.
