Dear Editor, This letter addresses some gray thoughts about homeopathy and research in the dental specialty. The pros and cons of integrating Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) to modern medicine is a burning issue, and on the other hand, research collaboration is active between both systems of medicine.[1] There is a huge hike in the fund allocation for the AYUSH system in the Union Budget, Government of India in recent years.[2] Homeopathy is the third popular system of medical practice in India regulated by the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy.[3] The knowledge and understanding of homeopathic approach of treatment in oral pathology is still in this infant stage.[4] In a systematic review about critical analysis of clinical trials on the use of homeopathy in dentistry published recently, India stands the second place with three studies.[5] The apprehensions regarding homeopathic education in India were sketched recently.[6] It will be nice if the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy should initiate collaborative work with dental professionals in the field of oral cancer, dental caries and periodontitis which will yield fruitful research in our country to come in future.
