The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Lifestyle sports participants" Sports Leisure Satisfaction and Psychological Need Thwarting and Exercise Adherence. The research subjects were Lifestyle sports participants who have been active for more than 6 months in the Chungcheongnam-do area around October 2023. 238 people were collected as a sample, excluding 31 that were judged to lack consistency in responses, and the final 207 were considered as valid samples was used in the final analysis. The survey tool was used by modifying and supplementing the questionnaire surveyed in previous studies, and the researcher conducted the study by visited sports sites directly or used Google Forms. For data processing, the statistical package program SPSS 22.0 was used, and correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used according to the research purpose, resulting in the following conclusions. First, Physical Satisfaction had a negative effect on Autonomy Needs Thwarting and Competence Needs Thwarting, and Social Satisfaction had a negative effect on Relatedness Needs Thwarting. Second, Autonomy Needs Thwarting had a partially negative effect on Predisposing Exercise Adherence. Third, Physical Satisfaction had a positive (+) effect on Enabling Exercise Adherence, and Social Satisfaction had a positive (+) effect on Predisposing Exercise Adherence. This study was able to examine the significant antecedents of specific attributes for Exercise Adherence in the subsequent study of Lifestyle sports participants, especially has provided a basis for understanding the "dark side" of Basic Psychological Need Theory (BPNT; Deci, & Ryan, 2002).
