Today’s society continues to be heavily dependent on hydrocarbons for its energy needs. At the same time, we are seeing high sensitivity in the oil prices due to global events like COVID pandemic or changing geopolitical landscapes. To manage these fluctuations E&P companies are trying to become more efficient in the way they run their operations. This has challenged service companies to come with innovative solutions to help operators increase their hydrocarbon production with existing resources. This paper describes one such solution. With decades of remote operations experience we now have an Integrated Operations execution model where advanced remote operations combined with latest technologies in digitization and automation can provide integrated solutions more safely, efficiently and sustainably. This model has 3 major components: Multi-skilled Field Professionals (FPRO) at rig site.Remote Professionals at Integrated remote operations center.Digital Technology enablers - Automation software, Rig communication technology, remote access, and visualization tools. FPRO are multiskilled personnel performing surface equipment handling and physical tasks on the rigsite. The number of multiskilled personnel can vary between three for offshore and two for land operations. Further optimization is achieved by having FPRO floating between rigs wherever possible. The multiskilling framework is embedded in training and competency structure where competencies are assigned, trained, and monitored to get them completed. Once complete they can perform different tasks at the rigsite. Roles and responsibilities of FPRO, Remote Professionals and other personal are clearly defined. FPRO are supported by Drilling contractor personal and remote professionals operating from remote center. Remote Professionals are highly trained and competent SME’s which are based in remote center and work along with rigsite FPRO to ensure flawless and consistent service delivery. The remote professionals are competent and qualified to deploy different tools and services. They are supported by technical support team based out of remote center. Successful transition of up to 50% tasks from rig site to a remote operation center is possible. POB reduction up to 67% was achieved in one case. Technology enablers are key to achieve the perfect synchronization and efficiency between the FPRO and Remote Professionals. Statement of requirement (SOR) for connectivity and rig infrastructure for communication are defined. Automation software’s in Drilling Services, Automated Pressure Pumping unit and Automated Fluid Monitoring system act as enablers. Digital visualization tools and optimization software are further enablers. The Integrated Operations model as a service offering aims to drive standardization through alignment with customer requirements, HSE drivers, global operational procedures, competency development, Service delivery and financial KPIs. This is a steppingstone in the process to change the way operators and service companies operate at rigsite.
