In this work, a dual-band planar patch (DBPP) antenna for WLAN and industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) spectrum applications is presented. The antenna's dimensions comprise a total volume of 28×26×1.4 mm 3 . The FR4 substrate is utilized in the antenna design, leading to resonant frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. Consequently, the antenna exhibits a VSWR value of 1.0949 and 1.4802, a return loss of -27.882 dB and -15.157 dB, an efficiency of 85.14% and 64.19%, and a gain of 2.14 dBi and 2.08 dBi at these respective frequencies. The suggested antenna, with its planar geometric structure, small volume, and broad bandwidth, performs satisfactorily in the WLAN (2.4 GHz) and ISM (5.8 GHz) bands. The 5.8 GHz frequency spectrum is also used for WiMAX, RFID, and realtime audio/video signal transmission and reception applications.
