The article is devoted to the consideration of the importance of legal principles as the basis for ensuring the status of special subjects of law on the example of the status of a judge. The main attention is paid to the principle of their inviolability. The correlation of this principle with the principle of judicial independence is revealed, where, in the author’s opinion, the former serves as a condition for ensuring the latter. Guarantees of the inviolability of judges established by industry legislation are being considered.
