The interconnection between the electrode active materials and current collectors plays a vital role in the stability and electric resistance of the electrodes for energy storage devices. Here, we developed a three-dimensional carbon nanomaterial/aluminum oxide/aluminum (CAAO) integrated current collector that has vertical aligned carbon nanoholes on its surface. The carbon nanoholes increase the interconnection between the active materials and current collectors, thereby improving the electrode performance. CAAO films have been demonstrated as current collectors for both the cathode and the anode. The electrode composed of MoO3–x/PPY on CAAO shows an ultrahigh capacitance of 1360 mF cm–2. Asymmetric solid-state supercapacitors constructed with these current collectors exhibit excellent energy storage performances with an areal capacitance of 313.1 mF cm–2 and a good energy density of 140.9 μWh cm–2.
