This article aims to study the current cognitive level of the concept of death in 4-5-year-old children. It mainly uses the interview method, supplemented by the situational test method, and takes 60 middle-class children as the investigation objects. The study found that middle-class children have different cognitive development levels of death in different life forms. Among them, animals and humans have higher development levels, and plants have the weakest development level; and the development of the death sub-concept of middle-school children is greatly affected by life experience. The development levels of various sub-concepats of death are different. The most developed is the functional loss of death, followed by the cause of death, and the third is the irreversibility of death. Based on this, this article puts forward two suggestions: it is feasible to carry out death education for middle-class children; the content of death education should be sequential.
