Day by day the need for communication through wireless technology is increasing. In MIMO systems, the channel capacity improves without increasing the spectral bandwidth but it suffers with high Inter Symbol Interference which can be minimized with an OFDM system. The main advantages of MIMO-OFDM systems are increased data rates with high robustness to multipath fading effects. In this system spectral efficiency is enhanced and designing of equalizer is simple. The major limitation present in this system is increased PAPR.This limitation can be overcome with one of the popular distortions less PAPR reduction technique called Selective Mapping (SLM).In SLM technique, data sequence is multiplied with phase sequence for minimizing the PAPR.Out of large set of phase sequences, obtaining optimum phase sequence is very complex. In this paper, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed for reducing the computational complexity of traditional SLM.
