To determine the effectiveness of soil conservation measures for the use of sloping lands by forming sown and natural meadow grasses. Methods. Field - to observe the growth and development of plants, the formation of yields; measuring and weighing - to determine the yield of grasses; statistical - to establish the reliability of the research results. Results. Soil and water protection measures for the rational use of agricultural land, taking into account environmental factors, have been developed. Directions for the use of agricultural land through the formation of sown and natural meadow agrocenoses based on an ecological and biological approach to the development and practical application of effective methods for their creation and rational use are proposed. Measures aimed at improving the quality of eroded soils by expanding the area of natural fodder lands, which is an effective measure to improve them in the fight against water erosion of the soil and provide a yield of dry matter of 6.5-7.8 t/ha nd root mass of 7.5-9.5 t/ha, and therefore contribute to the reproduction of soil fertility, have been identified. Conclusions. The effectiveness of soil and water conservation measures for the use of degraded lands by their alkalization has been established, which leads to a decrease in the development of erosion processes, environmental risk, and improvement of the livestock feed base by expanding the area of natural fodder lands.
