Examination and treatment of children is challenging for the practitioner, the staff, the child and the parents, especially in such sensitive and vulnerable areas of the body as the head and neck. Furthermore, one discomfort is enough to lose a child"s compliance making follow ups difficult or even impossible. After providing an overview of established basic behavior guidance techniques in last year's presentation, this work presents an instructional video for parents. Behavioral guidance of pediatric ENT patients begins even before the child is welcomed into the practice/outpatient clinic. Parents play a crucial role in the treatment. While children usually enter the examination situation with an open mind, parents are often anxious about the medical examination/treatment. These are often unintentionally transferred to the child, both verbally and non-verbally. If parents can be conditioned accordingly before the first treatment, this effectively improves the compliance of our young patients. The work presents an instructional video on preparatory training for parents. It also discusses specific behavioral guidance techniques that make a paediatric ENT examination fun and easy to transfer to your own practice. Behavioral guidance has been a standard and successful component of pediatric dentistry for decades. In our opinion, the established techniques should also become standard in "pediatric ENT medicine" - for the benefit of our little patients.
