Introduction With the development of technology, medicine becomes more individualized and targeted to the anatomy of each patient. For this reason, in cochlear implant surgery, the position of the electrode in relation to the individual modiolus anatomy is of high interest [1] [2] [3]. This is made possible by what is known as the pull-back technique [4]. This technique has shown lower ECAP thresholds and improvements in frequency resolution with perimodiolar electrodes and is used routinely in various clinics [5] [6]. However, the pull-back technique has not yet been tested with lateral-wall electrodes.
