Introduction Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is suitable for the eradication of biofilms and pathogenic microorganisms. Furthermore, it has already been shown for respiratory mucosa that treatment with CAP can induce an improvement in wound healing. An investigation into whether CAP can simultaneously promote wound healing and inhibit the growth of microorganisms has not yet been shown. In this study, we were able to demonstrate the effect of CAP on model organisms of nasal mucosa colonizing biofilms.
