Integrated Microwave Photonics based Optical Beamforming Networks (OBFNs) system are extensively used in communication due to increase in demand for higher bandwidth and compact size devices. To have higher bandwidths, OBFNs use multiple cascaded ORRs as delay elements due to their flat delay responses. However, increasing numbers of ORRs also create problem of rippling effect in system, hence need to be tuned to get optimum delay responses. The tuning of ORRs in many ways like solving the non-linear problem, hence various optimization algorithms can be applied to get optimized results. In current work, the tuning optimization of optical beam forming network (OBFNs) is done by taking Particle swarm optimization (PSO), Simulated Annealing optimization (SAO) and Artificial Bee Colony optimization (ABS) algorithms. The simulation optimization approaches of all three algorithms, their working and comparison of results are discussed.
