Forest fires are a serious hazard to both the environment and human lives. Effective firefighting and preventive tactics depend on the prompt and accurate prediction of forest fires. The purpose of this study is to improve the accuracy and efficiency of fire detection in forest regions by introducing a unique method for forest fire prediction utilizing image processing and the You Only Look Once (YOLOv8) algorithm. This approach uses object detection, picture segmentation, edge detection, and other image processing techniques to find possible fire zones in satellite images. Next, the YOLOv8 algorithm is used to precisely identify and locate objects associated to fire. The suggested model successfully discriminate real fire zones and false alarms brought on by ambient light or shadows by combining these methods. The outcomes of the experiments show that the suggested method predicts forest fires with a high degree of accuracy. In addition to early fire detection, the suggested approach reduces false alarms and boosts the effectiveness of fire prevention initiatives as a whole.
