In the present work, an ambipolar Organic Light Emitting Transistor (OLET) was designed and analyzed with the Silvaco Atlas-2D TCAD simulator. The OLET operates by the mechanism of recombination of injected charge carriers (holes and electrons), leading to the emission of light when these carriers come into contact, typically facilitated by electron and hole injection. The active material taken into account for this study is Tetracene. The light that is emitted exhibits considerable potential for a diverse array of optical and display applications, such as foldable displays and large-area flexible and printable electronics, printed RFIDs, photovoltaics, flexible sensors, packaging identifiers, and intelligent labels.
