The main purpose of this paper is to develop a high-frequency asymmetrical pulse width modulation (a-PWM) battery charger. The experimental setup primarily consists of a microprocessor as the main controller, paired with an a-PWM dual active bridge (DAB) converter. The efficiency of this converter decreases during light loads due to the influence of circulating current in the ZVS range. To tackle this issue, a new modulation strategy is proposed to ensure ZVS for the DAB converter and reduce circulating current.
